The 2018 Minor League Baseball Promotional Seminar will be held Sept. 24-27, at the Iowa Events Center in
Des Moines, Iowa. Home to the Triple-A™ Iowa Cubs, Des Moines was ranked by Forbes as the "Best Place for Business and Careers" in 2010 and 2013. As the capital and most populous city in the state of Iowa, it is known for combining affordability and fun with nationally-acclaimed events such as the World & Music Festival, live music venues, hundreds of miles of trails, and professional sports teams from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League to the Iowa Barnstormers of the Indoor Football League. Des Moines was recently ranked No. 9 on US News & World Report's list of "100 Best Places to Live in the USA."

The Promotional Seminar has evolved into one of the foremost idea-sharing conferences in the industry. The event brings together hundreds of executives, and provides an opportunity for them to learn, share, network and grow as professionals. Sales, marketing, promotions and community involvement will always be the pillars of Minor League Baseball, but as our businesses continue to grow, leaders need to be more innovative, tech-savvy and data-driven. The seminar strives to provide you the tools necessary to return to your organization and help them take that next step forward, whether you are a 20-year veteran team president, a first-year ticket sales associate or someone in between.

Seminar presenters cover topics ranging from sales to marketing to promotions and more.

Though named the Promotional Seminar, this is not just about promotions! Past presentation topics have covered sales, marketing, community relations, media relations, stadium operations, merchandising and more. Group Therapy Sessions create an open idea-sharing platform that give attendees a chance to focus on a specific aspect of the business that pertains to them, and discuss ideas, successes and challenges. OPEN Sessions allow for a smaller setting where participants can speak freely among the group and build on one another's questions and comments. High-level executives share an open dialogue where they discuss their responsibilities and challenges with their peers at the Executive Summit (RSVP required).

The four-day seminar is one of the best values around, with numerous social events on the agenda, including the MiLB Charities Community Service Project, Welcome Luncheon, MiLB Mixer, MiLB Charities Social (formerly the Cocktail Party & Silent Auction) and the Ballpark Outing, as well as a number of meals provided throughout the week. This year's Ballpark Outing will be held at Principal Park, home of the Iowa Cubs. The eighth annual Golden Bobblehead Awards, honoring the year's best in a number of categories and presented on the final night during the Ballpark Outing, will cap off the week's list of exciting events.
