2018 Internship Program

The Vermont Lake Monsters, short season Single-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, are currently in search of interns to begin work in May of 2018. The various positions provide interested and qualified candidates an opportunity to gain valuable experience with a historic, Single-A minor league baseball team. Our season runs from mid June until the beginning of September while playing a 76-game schedule (38 home & 38 away) in the New York-Penn League. The team originally founded in 1994, annually draws roughly 100,000 fans - an impressive feat for a state with a population of just over 600,000 people. All home games are played at historic Centennial Field (Minor League Baseball's oldest ballpark) in beautiful Burlington, Vermont.

The Vermont Lake Monsters Internship Experience Program is a hands-on work experience that allows aspiring young men and women the opportunity to observe the business operations of a Single-A Minor League Baseball Club. This hands-on work experience will enable each intern the opportunity to gain experience in a competitive industry, by observing, participating and working in the business operations of a Minor League Baseball Club. Each individual will have the opportunity to work in specific departments (such as Client Services, Marketing & Fan Development, Graphic Design, Ticket Sales and Video Internship), but gain exposure to all facets of the business.

The internship runs from the end of May until the end of the season (beginning of September).

"This was the best experience of my life. I was able to learn what it was like to work in community relations, marketing, sales, ticket sales, gameday operations, etc. all in one internship. Not having any experience in sports, this was priceless. I cannot remember one day all summer waking up and not looking forward to working. The Lake Monsters' staff became more than colleagues, they became lifelong friends. Three months later, I still miss working for the Lake Monsters." ~Evan Levitt, New City, New York, Drew University

"This internship is an awesome experience. You work with great people, in a great environment, and you gain amazing real-world experience in ALL areas of a minor league organization. Everything from sales, to public relations, to front office responsibilities, and the list goes on." ~Sean Diminick, Essex, Vermont, James Madison University

"I can't imagine doing my internship with any other team. My summer with the Lake Monsters gave me experience in all areas of the organization. Everyone was welcoming and willing to guide and help us with projects. We were encouraged to take on as much responsibility as we wanted and to get involved in whatever interested us the most. The summer was so much fun and I met people that I hope to stay in touch with forever." ~Michelle Skinner, Twelve Mile, Indiana, Ball State University
